About us

Our mission is to help save lives and property, while improving the health and safety of the first responders themselves. We started by listening to a customer and designing the best system to meet those needs. We’ve never stopped listening, innovating, and supporting our customers.

How we serve our clients

Our singular focus means that you have experts that you can rely upon every step of the way. We know that a successful fire station alerting system begins with listening to your requirements. It continues with design, configuration, and implementation by a team that views itself as your partner. We also believe that fire station alerting systems should last a very long time, so don’t leave you at “go live.” Our highly experienced customer success specialists and support team help ensure that your system is optimized and help you every step of the way as you upgrade and grow.

A voice you can understand

Locution set out to make dispatches to be as understandable as possible.  Rather than an off-the-shelf voice based on splicing together syllables and sounds, we created an audio database with full word, natural voice.  Pronunciations are the way you want them.  Configuration choices include how to say numbers, the order of the information in the dispatches, and more.  All of this can be set at the station level or for groups of stations.  The result: a voice optimized for understandability, and also a voice that communicates the way you want.

A voice optimized for speed and redundancy

Our audio database is stored at each station, which maximizes speed of transmission, especially important during peak call periods. It also provides redundancy. System configuration settings can also be stored offsite, providing a redundant copy for protection.

Audio tones and visual displays can quickly convey critical information to first responders. Locution PrimeAlert® can be configured to provide these based upon your requirements. The system can even be configured to notify other stations if you’d like, so that they can prepare to assist in major events.

Health Icon

Improving the health and safety of first responders

We believe that first responder health and safety should be taken as seriously as the health and safety of those they are protecting. To help mitigate health risks to first responders, Locution delivers systems with the latest technological advances, such as heart saver tones, ramped audio and visual alerts, lighting optimized for night use, smaller directional speakers to provide clearer audio at lower levels than large wide area speakers, zoned alerting to avoid awakening first responders unnecessarily, and more.

Support

Fire station alerting systems are a critical tool for first responders. In addition to being fast and reliable, they need to run 24 x forever. Our singular focus on this industry means that when a customer calls for support, they will be talking to experts who work on these systems exclusively. Our PrimeAlert Configuration Manager helps customers readily see and fix potential issues themselves. It also has integrated support capability to enable sharing log files easily with our experts.
